PROJECT MANAGER (Temporary & Fulltime)

Project Managers may have the responsibility for one or more projects at any one time. Using Spindlewood’s central resources and, wherever possible, standard network designs, project managers have responsibility for planning and implementing the onsite network and installing the necessary equipment.

Depending on the size of the project, project managers will often be required to manage a team, planning and prioritising to gain the maximum effectiveness out of the team.

  • Planning of the project
  • Overview of equipment preparation
  • Daily planning
  • Team task allocation
  • Senior client contact
  • Pursue and agree 3rd party sales additions
  • Team onsite welfare and discipline
  • Completion of installation to agreed specifications
  • Network monitoring once installed – in conjunction with the remote support
  • Ensure equipment is accounted for and returned in a suitable state
  • Notify HQ of any equipment issues
  • Writing key elements of post project report

 Responsibilities

  • Represent the company at a customers site, liaising with customers on the installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Responsible for setting up IT infrastructure and network.
  • Connecting relevant equipment i.e. CCTV, VoIP telephones, internet access and Wifi.
  • Familiarising yourself with the needs of the customer and responding appropriately.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety rules, procedures and requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Provide a professional service to all customers at all times.

 Applicant Preferred Requirements

Although not essential, this may be well suited to candidates coming from an (ex-military) background i.e. Army (royal signals), Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF). Particularly with experience of CCTV, VOIP telephones and Wi-Fi.

  • The successful candidate will have experience of working within a similar position.
  • Good Layer 2 knowledge & experience, CAT-5 cabling & Fibre, PoE (power over Ethernet).
  • Good IP knowledge, inc all basics (Subnets, Routing, VLANS etc).
  • Use of 802.11 Wi-Fi & deployment.
  • Cross OS knowledge, Mac & PC.
  • VoIP experience preferred.
  • PTP and PTMP wireless experience preferred.
  • PSTN – knowledge/experience of dealing with DSL & ISDN lines preferred.
  • Good working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Health & Safety aware.
  • Having CSCS / IPAF cards would be an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
  • Accommodation is provided on all events.
  • There will be a compulsory training course held in Tamworth for all prospective applicants. Day(s) to be confirmed dependant on position applied for.

 

 

PROJECT TECHNICIAN (Temporary)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Health & Safety rules, procedures and requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Provide a professional service to all customers at all times.

Basic requirements

  • The successful candidate will have experience of working within a team environment and have basic IT skills.
  • Due to the nature of this work, you will be required to work away for potentially long   periods (maybe 3-4 weeks at a time) therefore; candidates will need to be highly flexible.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Health & Safety aware.
  • Having CSCS / IPAF cards would be an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
  • Accommodation is provided on all events.
  • Food is provided at the majority of events over main build & show days.
  • There will be a compulsory training course held in Tamworth for all prospective applicants. Day(s) to be confirmed.
